Issue One: The Table (version 2 in colour)
This first edition of The Gravesend Journal tells the story of Tony and Vicki Harris, who founded a community group, The Table, to feed the homeless and those in need. The Table led the couple on a journey that would change their lives, seeing Tony giving away all their money and most of his clothes. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were feeding up to 50 people six nights a week.
"I was working on a good wage, and I said, I'm going to stand in town and give everything away..."
I photographed with them in 2021-22. There are more photographs, plus an interview with Vicki and Tony, on the blog.
This is the second print run, with a revised (we think improved) layout, all colour. To make it as widely available as possible, print editions are sold at cost, £4.50, including UK postage.
If you purchased the black and white version and would like what we think is the improved colour version, send an email to hello@gravesendjournal.com, and we’ll send one free of charge.
I’m keen to cover any important local story. Please get in touch if you have a story to share or a subject that needs highlighting.
